Evaluation Part 6: New Technologies learned
Music is Applause by Lady Gaga
Some of this part of the Evaluation does link in with Part 7, and vice versa, though this video covers most of it, I may repeat myself in a few posts ahead.
Also, I forgot to mention https://bubbl.us/ in the video - but it is a mind map making website where it makes brainstorming ideas a lot quicker and easier.
And Stupeflix, which allowed me to create my first video for free on their website with a variety of templates to choose from to make my video more personal, but easy to use and read.

Evaluation part 4: Audience Feedback
For part of my audience feedback I used a questionnaire.
My questionnaire is both open and closed, with the ability to comment and the closed yes or no answers too, to give a larger view on the overall opinion of my magazine.
Open questionnaire:
Definition: Where the audience can give their full opinion in their own words
Positives: It shows what the audience is really thinking; it gives quotes on specific good and bad things that may not be brought up in a closed questionnaire.
Negatives: With an open questionnaire, statistics are almost impossible to calculate as the data is all different opinions, therefore, the data can't be processed onto a graph to show progress.
Closed Questionnaire:
Definition: Where the audience answer set questions that have set answers (e.g. Yes or No)
Positives: It gives set data which will enable you to calculate averages and other numbers to show the magazines popularity (e.g. predicted sales)
Negatives: The audience doesn't get to voice their true opinions, so, some bits that the audience feels is week, won't get the attention brought to it that it needs.

Evaluation Part 4: Reader Profile
Earlier in my project, I created a reader profile, and I'm re-posting this in order to help explain the social groups of my audience.
Evaluation - Part 2
How does your media product represent social groups?
Taking into account:
Gender
Youth sub-cultures
Class
Is the magazine or the article aspirational/inspirational?
Representation of the models/stars?

Evaluation Part 1:
- In
what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and
conventions of real media products?
In order to do this, I compared and contrasted each of the pages I made with the style model that I used to create them.

A few photos that were unused
I couldn't use this photo, as, although the pose is something I probably would've used, the picture is blurry and therefore, unusable.
I didn't use this photo, as it is too similar to my primary article image, and therefore, this photo would have little impact on the audience because of the similarities.
Naomi Wolf
Naomi Wolf's theory for women in the media is that they use very attractive women to make the audience buy the product, whether it is a magazine or otherwise.
The theory suggests women are sometimes sexualised, so that it will attract more attention from those who find them attractive, as well as those genuinely interested in the product.
This is not just for men, women are also more likely (according to this theory) to buy something with a picture of an attractive woman on it, for idealistic values in society today, the woman almost sees the woman photo-shopped on the magazine as a beauty goal for herself.

Reviewing last 4 screen shots
All these screen shots show the addition of a black strip, and pictures down the middle of the text, as otherwise, it would look blank and plain without any added secondary images.
Said images were manipulated to change the brightness, colour contrast etc. on Photoshop and cut out and then placed on a white background. These images were bold images, and the model had different expressions in each photo, so they all had a bigger impact on the reader than images that were extremely similar.
I debated on putting in the black strip, but I thought it broke up all the white on the page, so it made it look more appealing, thus, I kept it on my article.

Feature article screen shot
With this screen shot I added a quote from the article onto the picture, as that seems to be a convention of feature articles, I added it to increase the authenticity of my magazine.
Feature Article - Next screen shot
This screen shot shows how I've added a photo to one page of the article and I have edited it to make her lipstick brighter, and to give her hair a blue tint.

Finished my Front Cover
I added a photo, changing the contrast and colour balance to make the lipstick bright red like the masthead and the models hair a more extreme colour (like the blue) to show she is involved in the rock genre. The other text was changed to the same blue of the bottom of the page and the other blue text, as leaving it black made it difficult to see,
Definitely my last of my contents page
Finally finished!
I altered a few images, and added a new one, from my main model for my article and front cover and I added a margin, overall, my contents page has gone really well, and in my opinion, looks authentic.

Photo Ideas - Front Cover
My front cover photo ideas
I am going to use a medium shot, probably at a slight birds eye view angle, and have the person dressed in clothing stereotypical to the rock genre and as I a using a female for my front cover, I need to think of Marjorie Fergusson's theory.I am basing my model's "look" loosely off Haley Williams of Paramore - as she is the most well known female in the rock industry, and her look is liked amongst thousands of fan, but still using the style model of that of the Black Veil Brides issue of RockSound - as that was the favourite in my audience review.
Paramore - Hayley Williams is how I am basing my models appearance

Feature Article Screen Shots 1
So, this is the first screen shot of my feature article and I have used Times New Roman sized 10 font for my text, except the "Beihbinn Lee" in the corner which is the same font as a one used on my front cover. I also put in a margin and a bar running across the bottom to keep a house style running through my magazine.
I also have kept the same colour scheme, and will continue to keep that colour scheme to keep a running house style for my magazine.
Some unusable photos
Here are a few concert photos I didn't use on my magazine because they're blurred and unfocused, and in order to improve my magazine, I must improve the quality of my photos used, so I couldn't use these photos.

Front Cover Screen Shot 2
From the previous screen shots, I have added a barcode, also a bar along the bottom, showing it is a "special" poster issue. I also added my main masthead for my feature article, using a different font to the others, as that is also done in my style model. I made sure the font wasn't too garish and still fits with the colour scheme of the magazine. (Red white black and blue)

Final Contents Page (Possibly)
This could be my last draft of my contents page and I have added more pictures and changed one of my features, I also used the magic eraser tool to erase the background from two of the four images I had put on, to keep a white background, and to make them less busy and easier to fir with the scheme of the magazine.
I also added the same font I've used on my front cover's masthead to make it have a house theme running throughout the article.
Overall, my contents page has deterred a lot from my original flat plan, as I have made it a double paged article, and added more images and more text to add to the authenticity of the piece.
